More Video from the Maui Aquarium…

More Video from the Maui Aquarium…

Here’s two more great videos from our recent visit to the Maui Aquarium – the Tidepool has a great educational area where kids and adults can touch sea urchins, star fish and the wonders in the water…

The Turtles were as curious about us as we were about them. This one came over to get a good look at the funny looking people…

Halloween in Lahaina

We just returned from another fun Halloween in downtown Lahaina.  The organized event of past years is pretty much ended.  The keiki/children’s parade still had the support of the community and Front Street was closed for several hours.  The weather was the usual “perfect” Maui weather and the costumes were entertaining.  We took a whole lot of photos to share.  We have our list of favorites below.  Let us know which costumes get your pick.

Check out the Baby Parrot on the Pirates shoulder, the Smallest Shark, count Ladybugs, familes that were clean, a tribe, Porky’s relatives, a big baby and a would-be VP.

Our Trip to The Maui Aquarium (with Video!)

Our Trip to The Maui Aquarium (with Video!)

Maui Aquarium was so much more fun then we thought it was going to be. The tunnel was a blast for the young and young at heart.

Finally got the excuse to go there since we had our grandchildren with us in Maui. Check out the video!

'Iao Valley State Park – A Must See in Maui!

'Iao Valley State Park – A Must See in Maui!
The 'Iao Needle

The Iao Needle

While in Maui, be sure to take time to visit ‘Iao Valley State Park. Located at the end of Highway 32 in Central Maui (Wailuku), the park features lush hiking trails and the ‘Iao Needle, a 2250-foot rock formation once used as a natural altar.

The lovely, deep valley of ‘Iao features the ‘Iao Needle, a natural rock pinnacle presiding over the ‘Iao stream and surrounded by the walls of the Pu’u Kukui Crater. Once used as a natural altar, the 2,250-foot stone pillar covered in green, is a basaltic core that has survived eons of swirling water.

Directions: Take Highway 32 (Kaahumanu Road) west out of Wailuku. This road turns into Highway 320 which lead directly to the ‘Iao Valley State Park.
